Rock is excellent for sailing bathing and walking and some trendy pubs. There is also a ferry to Padstow that runs all day and up to closing time at night - 9 miles from St Mabyn.
Port Quin is a lovely place to swim from the rocks when the tide is high. 10 miles away.

Port Isaac – A quaint fishing port featured in TV’s Doc Martin and the film Saving Grace. that has some good restaurants and pubs. There is an excellent fish merchant by the harbour slipway – 7 miles away

Beaches North Cornwall is renowned for its wonderful sandy beaches, perfect for surfing, bathing or just taking a stroll. Polzeath is one of the most popular surfing beaches in the area. It is 10 miles away and has surfing schools, popular beach side pubs and restaurants.
Constantine Bay – walking and surfing for experts - 14 miles
Daymer Bay – windsurfing and walking - 9 miles. A canine paradise as dogs are allowed on Daymer beach all year round. At low tide you can walk to Rock and back.
