St Ives. is worth a day trip from St Mabyn fot its galleries and beach cafes. We highly recommend the free parking at Hayle station and taking the short coastal train ride to St Ives.
Lost Gardens of Heligan. Heligan and its restored gardens is one of the best attractions in Cornwall. Click here to visit their site.

The Camel Trail. Hire bicycles from Wadebridge (4 miles) or Bodmin (7 miles) and take an easy ride along the former Bodmin to Padstow railway line following the course of the Camel River. Children’s bikes, tow-along buggies and child seats can also be hired. Our closest access point to the trail is at Helland Bridge which is 2 miles away.
Surfing. North Cornwall is renowned for its surfing beaches. The nearest is at Polzeath where there are a number of surfing schools. Click here to go to the Polzeath Surf Report site.
Local Golf Courses. The nearest is the 9 hole St Kew G.C. which is a mile away and is ideal for beginners (Tel: 01208 841500). Roserrow Golf Club is an 18 hole course near Polzeath. The clubhouse has a swimming pool spa nad fitness suite. There is also a driving range and tennis courts (Tel: 01208 863000). St Enodoc Golf Club has two 18 hole courses and is in Rock 10 miles away. The Church course (see picture) is a traditional links golf with magnificent views.The shorter Holywell course is still a good test (Tel: 01208 863216).
